The Alphabets of Life: Burden
Warrior Princess, 1 Peter 5:6-7 states And God will exalt you in due time, if you humble yourselves under His mighty hand, by casting all your cares on Him because He cares for you. My translation of these verses is this; we need to put down our pride, trust in the power of God and lay down our burdens at the foot of the cross. We as women tend to carry them around in our spiritual backpacks with the attitude, “I got this,” and we know we don’t got it. The Lord doesn’t want us walking around with the weight of our burdens on our shoulders, but He wants us to cast them upon Him and to trust that He can take them on. Jesus said His yoke is light that we need to give them to Him. I believe one of the challenges that we all have is Trust; we rather fight through all the things we are facing than to trust God. One of my favorite verses that the Lord gave me when I was walking through the challenges with my son is from 2 Chronicles 20:17, You will not need to fight in this battle. Stand firm, hold your positions, see the salvation of the Lord on your behalf,” We don’t have to contend with the burdens we are facing. If we would take our position, lay them down, and pray; and if we would stand or be still, and watch the Lord deliver us, we will find that we are living a burden free life because we have one who carries our burden for us.
