The Alphabets of Life: Hope

The Alphabets of Life: Hope

Warrior Princess last week I attended a sex trafficking conference for 2 ½ days. It was one of the most intense conferences I have ever been too. I went to a lot of workshops that talked about the impact sex trafficking has on the victims and our society. I learn about how the police are working hard to stop traffickers and learned of many resources there are for direct service providers to help survivors.

Though there were a few stories about survivors and how they escape trafficking the one thing that was missing for me was the talk of Hope. As a believer, it was hard at the conference where hope is not talked about. Hope gives people reasons to fight, hope brings healing to the broken and lost soul, and hope restored. I know for me Jesus is that hope sadly His name never came up, it saddens me so to my core. I know many do not believe in Jesus, but when I hear about their hurt and pain and you can still see how they are dealing with the struggles of their trauma. I must ask where does one go to find hope?

Talking about hope brings me such joy; I can say that is one of the reasons I love serving in our church’s Celebrate Recovery ministries, people come out their recovery finding the hope of Jesus. They celebrate how the Lord has brought them out of their broken places, and that healing is taking place. They understand they are no longer defined by their past, but they have a hope and a future. When you offer the hope of Jesus, it causes people to see there is a light at the end of their tunnel, that they can climb the mountains and no ocean is too big to cross.

I want to encourage you to be hope for those you meet, I know there are many times we cannot speak the name of Jesus, but His presence can awaken the weary soul of those we meet. Where there is no hope, the hope of Jesus is there.
